For Students with Mild-Moderate

Developmental & Cognitive Disabilities

This fall class will be taught by Angela Watnemo, who danced with the Continental Ballet Company from 1996 - 2006.  In addition to dancing she is also an experienced special education DCD teacher in ISD 196.  Angela looks forward to sharing her love of dance and classical ballet with students who have disabilities.  Teaching assistances are dancers from the Jr. Company and the Continental Ballet School.

Fall Session:

  • For middle & high school students with mild-moderate developmental disabilities, ages 11-18 years

  • $85.50 for 9-1 hour classes at Bloomington Center for the Arts

  • Mondays 6:00-7:00 p.m. (September 15, 22, 29; October 6, 20, 27; November 3, 10, 17)

  • Learn classical ballet steps and combinations

  • Learn about classical ballet stories in the CBC repertoire

  • Work on coordination and flexibility

Dance Attire:

Girls may choose to wear a

leotard & tights, OR a t-shirt

and sweat pants.  Boys should

wear a t-shirt and sweat pants. 

Ballet slippers (pink for girls, black for boys) are ideal for footwear but socks are OK also. No street shoes on the studio floor.  Long hair should be up.
