Happy New Year
2012
Happy New Year to all our students and student families! We are making a few changes to our class schedule and also adding some new class offerings. Please check with Alicia, our Registrar, for the newest schedule. Our student recital will be June 21st and tickets will go on sale May 1st. Although that is several months away, we will be measuring and ordering costumes for the recital in the next several weeks.
For those new to our Company, we want you to know that in addition to teaching lessons we have a professional performing company. The Company will be presenting the ballet Swan Lake the last two weekends in March.
FUNDRAISING: To help with production costs we are having several fundraising activities. One event that the students can help with is selling raffle tickets. These are only $2 and you could win a $1000 cash; a $500 shopping spree at the Mall of America; or a Toro snow blower.
Swan Lake Prize Package! The student selling the most raffle tickets will win dinner for two at a local restaurant, two tickets to Swan Lake and have their photo taken with cast members on stage. Raffle tickets are available through our Registration Office – just check with Alicia.
We will be holding classes on Monday, January 17th even though some schools are closed for the Martin Luther King Holiday. If you will be out of town or for some reason not able to attend class, please call our Registration Office and let Alicia know. 952-563-8562
Fall Classes Begin
We welcome new and returning students to our fall classes. It is always exciting and busy at the start of the fall season. Since most of our students took a break during the summer months, instructors have been asked to start out classes slow. Some students and parents have begun to question whether they are in the right level class.
PLEASE – be patient. We are purposely starting these fall classes slow and precise. Teachers need a few weeks with the students to determine if they are properly placed. Please do not take it upon yourself to move to a different level. Stay with the class and let our professional instructors do the evaluation. A slow technique class will benefit any dancer – even a professional – especially when you have been out of the studio for several weeks.
So continue to come to the classes that were recommended. Work slow and steady to regain your turnout and technique. Teachers will re-evaluate for October. Thank you!
Continental Ballet Receives Minnesota State Arts Board Funding!
We are very honored to announce that Continental Ballet Company has been approved for funding for a 2012 Operating Support Grant.
This is the first time we have received financial support from the Minnesota State Arts Board. We are looking forward to a great season and appreciate receiving this grant.
Thank you!
Summer Hours
Our regular studio classes are on break. We will resume our daily class schedule on September 6th. During the summer months we are offering a Princess Camp for pre-school students and an Intensive Summer Study for our intermediate/advanced students in July/August. We will check our emails and voicemail regularly during these summer months.
You can register online for fall classes or come see us in person on August 4th at our Invitation to the Dance. This will feature a performance by our summer students and a special preview performance from CBC dancers who are participating in the Fringe Festival. We will have class registration and our teachers available at this event.
